Pathway Programmes

What sets Whalley Range Sixth Form apart from other sixth forms are the number of unique opportunities we qualify for because of our status as a non selective all girls’ school. Studying with us will give you the edge of other applicants on the best courses and universities.

We provide a variety of bespoke pathway programmes tailored for students wishing to follow careers in law, dentistry, medicine & veterinary or apply to Oxbridge Universities (Cambridge or Oxford). These programmes are designed to provide you with the additional advice, guidance and experiences that are essential to ensure you have a strnong application to these courses/universites. Whilst also preparing you for entrance examinations and interviews. Students completing these programmes have moved onto courses studying at Manchester University, UCL, University of Sunderland and Noor who is studying Medicine at Oxford St Hugh’s.

Corpus Christi College Oxford

We are fortunate to have a strong link with Corpus Christi College. Each year they invite our college to attend an in person visit to their University College.

A typical school visit includes:

Time Session
10.30am Arrive in Oxford
11am Morning activity / introductory talk
11.50am Meet student ambassadors
12pm Lunch (free of charge for state schools)
12.30pm Tour of Corpus Christi with student ambassadors
12.50pm Q&A with student ambassadors
1.05pm Afternoon activity (e.g. college tour, museum visit, academic session)
2pm/3pm Depart Oxford

We also get to also get to quiz undergraduate Subject Ambassadors about student life at Oxford. In June 2025 we were able to attend with Noor, a Whalley range Sixth Form alumnae, studying medicine at St Hugh’s.
